Terms of Service
Last updated August 21, 2026
The short version: be kind, don’t post what isn’t yours, and we’ll do our part. The long version is below.
Who this is between
These terms are an agreement between you and Addison Fuller, who makes and runs Granny. “We” and “us” below mean him. Using Granny means you accept them.
What Granny is
Granny is an iPhone app for finding, keeping and cooking recipes, with an AI companion who helps you do it. She is early, she is being worked on constantly, and things will change.
Your account
You need an account to use Granny. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — what happens under your account is your responsibility. You must be at least 13 years old. Give us a real email address, because it’s how you get back in if you’re locked out.
About Granny’s cooking advice
This part matters more than the rest, so it’s in plain words.
Granny’s recipes, answers and guidance are generated by an AI. She is confident, she is often right, and she is not infallible. She is not a doctor, a dietitian, or a food safety inspector, and nothing she says is professional advice.
If you have a food allergy or a medical condition, check every ingredient yourself. Granny does her best with what you’ve told her, but she can be wrong about what a dish contains, what a substitution does, or whether something is safe for you. An allergy is not a thing to take an AI’s word on.
Use your own judgment on cooking temperatures, times and the handling of raw ingredients. If a recipe tells you something that contradicts what you know about food safety, trust yourself and tell us.
What you write and cook
What you make in Granny is yours. Your recipes, your notes, your photos — you own them, and you always will.
To run the app, we need your permission to store what you make and show it where the app is meant to show it — in your cookbook, and to other people using Granny where the app displays recipes and profiles. That permission lasts as long as you keep the content on Granny, and ends when you delete it. We do not need, and will not take, permission to use your recipes or photos in advertising or to sell them on.
Recipes Granny writes with you are yours to cook, share, print and post wherever you like.
What we ask of you
Don’t use Granny to:
- Post someone else’s writing or photos as your own. Recipes travel and always have — that’s fine and it’s the point — but a person’s words and pictures belong to them.
- Post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, or sexual, or anything aimed at a particular person to hurt them.
- Post something deliberately unsafe to cook or eat.
- Break into, overload, scrape or work around any part of the service.
- Impersonate someone else.
If someone posts something that shouldn’t be there, write to us and we’ll deal with it.
What we can do
We can remove content that breaks these terms, and we can suspend or close an account that keeps doing it. Where it’s reasonable to, we’ll tell you why first. We can also change, pause or stop parts of Granny — she’s early, and some of what’s here today will work differently later.
Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like, from Settings under Account. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what that removes and what it doesn’t.
The legal part
Granny is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We can’t promise she’ll always be available, always be right, or never lose anything — though we work hard at all three.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Granny, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for anything that can’t lawfully be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Changes to these terms
We’ll update the date at the top when these terms change. If a change materially affects you, we’ll tell you in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
